Sometimes we call out to God. We look and listen for God. But He is silent. It appears to us that He is on vacation.

Doesn’t He know the trouble we are in? Doesn’t He care? We may worry that He has forgotten us. Why won’t He speak? Why won’t He answer our prayers? Why this delay?

Rest assured, God is not angry with you. And He has not gone on vacation. He has His eye upon you at all times. He is with you at all times, upholding you with His word of power, supplying your every need. His protective arm surrounds you always. He has promised in His word,

“I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. I will not, I will not, I will not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let you down (relax My hold on you). Assuredly not!” [Hebrews 13:5]

Hide and seek

God is, in fact, working on your behalf at all times. But sometimes Father God will play hide and seek with His children. He hides for a short season in order for you to realize your great need of Him. You become desperate for Him and search even more diligently.

“If you look for Me wholeheartedly, you will find Me.” [Jeremiah 29:13]

God wants you to know His big LOVE for you even when you cannot see it. He wants to grow your faith–your confident trust in Him. Developing your character is more important to God than your comfort level. Your relationship with God is holy treasure. You are His most precious child.

Do not harden your heart

Sometimes God is speaking to us but we do not hear Him. His voice may be drowned out by the clutter and busyness of life surrounding us. Or we miss His voice because we have hardened our own heart with unforgiveness, impatience, worrying or not spending quality time with our Lord. Take time with God each day. Ask Him to speak to you through the Bible.

Open my eyes to see the miracle-wonders hidden in Your word. [Psalm 119:18]

Check your heart. Ask God to reveal to you anything that might be coming between you, anything that may be clouding your vision or blocking your blessing.

Do not be deceived

Never think or say that God does not want to talk to you. What kind of father would not want to speak to his own children? God is our perfect Father. His heart is to talk to you, love you, hug you and help you through every difficulty.

But the devil can throw deception at us like a smoke screen, hiding the truth from our view. We cannot see the answer, even though it is there right in front of us. Our faithful Father God is there for us always. We sometimes don’t see His hand. But we learn to trust Him, to live by faith.

Again, ask God to show you any deception that may be clouding your vision. Take authority over that lie in Jesus’ Name. Reject it. Say, I bind all deception from me in Jesus’ Name. And I ask You, Holy Spirit, to reveal to me the truth of Your word. Forgive me, Lord, for believing a lie. I turn away from that lie and follow You, Holy Spirit of God.

Joy and peace in believing

Remember that your heavenly Father LOVES you unconditionally. You are His favorite child. And nothing can separate you from His LOVE. Fear not. Be strong and courageous. Wait upon the Lord. He will not be late by a single minute.

So we take comfort and are encouraged and confidently and boldly say, The Lord is my Helper, I will not be seized with alarm. I will not fear or dread or be terrified. [Hebrews 13:6]
